Matsui Brewery, located in Kyoto City, was founded in 1726. It boasts the longest history among sake breweries in central Kyoto. Since 2009, they have resumed sake brewing at their current location. The brewery, situated on the first floor of an apartment building, is compact yet equipped with clean and precise temperature control facilities.

Their current flagship brand, "Kagura (神蔵)," is renowned for its remarkable balance, achieving a high level of both aromatic richness and flavorful depth. It is an excellent choice even for those new to drinking sake.
